Enterix Inc. is a US-based biotechnology company founded in 1997 that manufactures, markets, and distributes a leading-edge product for colorectal cancer screening called InSure®, InSure is a trademark of Enterix Inc., a fecal immunochemical test (FIT) that is a useful screening aid for detecting primarily lower gastrointestinal bleeding disorders that may be related to iron deficiency anemia, diverticulitis, ulcerative colitis, polyps, adenomas, colorectal cancers or other gastrointestinal lesions that can bleed.  If present, this hidden (occult) blood in stool is typically passed in the feces to the toilet bowl water. The test’s method of detection (based on antibodies to hemoglobin) and its simple-to-use design result in sensitivity, specificity, and consumer compliance performance well in excess of the chemically based tests currently in use; the superiority of InSure® in these dimensions is supported by clinical trials.

Enterix technology is covered by U.S. Patents including Patent Nos. 6,221,678, 6,271,046, 6,869,804, & 6,977,173.

The InSure® FIT™ and InSure® Quik F I T™ are FDA cleared. Both tests are CLIA waived and have received strong endorsement from both clinicians and the medical products distribution industry in the USA. Quest Diagnostics completed the acquisition of Enterix Inc. in September 2006.
